God In America: How Religious Liberty Shaped America Wednesdays, beginning January 11, 2012 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm Come join us for a small group beginning Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 6:00 pm as we explore the role religion has played in the history of our country. This group will continue on Wednesday evenings through February 15th. We will be watching and discussing the critically acclaimed Frontline Documentary, “God In America: How Religious Liberty Shaped America.” This 6 week series will examine the relationship between religion and democracy and impact it has had on our government, institutions, and social reform movements. Although most of us learned American history from a secular view, this series shows us that religion has been the back story. You may never look at American history quite the same again. Feel free to grab a brown bag dinner and bring it with you if need be, as the first part of each session will be watching the video. This group will meet in the Parlor. Childcare will be provided along with dinner for any children. A sign-up sheet will be in the front entryway of the church. |

Covenant Cooks has taken a sabbatical!. We are no longer in need of small plastic containers, brown paper bags or canned food items. Please do not continue to bring these items to the church. Covenant Cooks would like to thank all who have helped make this community outreach program such a success. The people who participated as students seemed to really enjoy the time spent with our church members in our church kitchen. Thank you all and Happy New Year to each of you! Cyndi, Darlene, Joanne and the two Marys |
